The DDF integrates the hail warning system into building automation by retrieving location-based hail warnings online and deriving control commands for electrically operated blinds.

When a hail warning is received, blinds or external venetian blinds (raffstores) are automatically moved to a protective position (typically “raised”); once the all-clear is given, or when the hail risk drops below a defined threshold, they are returned to a predefined position.

The use of this functionality is only possible via, and in conjunction with, the VKF Swiss portal.
