Symbols & Visualization

This library provides a collection of predefined symbols that can be used throughout the system for visualizing DDFs and within the System Schema.

You can add your own custom symbols by adding them to the provided CSV file.

Installing the Symbols

Upload the CSV file via:

Settings → Others → SVG Library

Symbols not showing?
If a newly added symbols are not immediately available in the System Schema, perform an RLD (Reload).

Using Symbols in DDFs

Symbols can also be used for visualization within your DDFs. For details on how to use and configure them, please refer to the Wiki:

HOW_TO  ·  Create your own SVG symbol

Creating Custom Symbols

Use the examples below as a starting point for creating your own device-specific SVG symbols.

.style --> Defines the common appearance of the symbol, such as stroke width, line joins and line endings.
.status --> Elements that are displayed when the defined state is active.
.statusoff --> Elements that are displayed when the defined stateoff is active.

The class names mentioned (such as .state or .stateoff) serve as examples and can be chosen freely. Depending on the value of the state variable, various visibility states can be defined using conditions to display different graphic elements based on the system status.

Visibility based on State

With visibility, you can directly define when an element should be visible.

  • visibility: state; – based on the normal state
  • visibility: stateon; – when stateon is active
  • visibility: stateoff; – when stateoff is active

You can also use simple comparisons with numbers:

  • state > 5 – greater than 5
  • state >= 5 – greater than or equal to 5
  • state < 5 – less than 5
  • state <= 5 – less than or equal to 5
  • state == 5 – equal to 5
  • state != 5 – not equal to 5

Example:

visibility: state > 5;

The element is only displayed when the state value is greater than 5.

Adding the Symbol to the Library

  1. Create your SVG based on one of the examples.
  2. Add the symbol to the provided CSV file.
  3. Upload the CSV via Settings → Others → SVG Library
  4. If the symbol does not appear in the System Schema, perform an RLD (Reload).
